CL 2bc4259c 82d2 4d4a 97b9 ee7e4d77ee89, based in Boyden, IA, seeks a Maintenance Tech to perform daily preventative and reactive maintenance across the facility. You will log work in CMMS or paper records and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic/hydraulic issues on plant equipment.

Safety is emphasized; you will follow procedures, wear PPE, and work as part of a team to keep equipment in optimal condition and support other departments as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Acceptable driving record.
• Experience with shop maintenance, power and/or hand tools preferred.

Overall Job Function

The Maintenance Tech performs daily preventative/reactive maintenance tasks safely throughout the locations. This position will be based out of the Boyden Feed location.

Essential Job Functions

• Uses CMMS or paper records to log all performed maintenance work.
• Solving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic/hydraulic issues on plant equipment and facilities.
• Performs equipment preventative maintenance so that equipment/facilities are kept in good working order.
• Reading, analyzing and interpreting technical procedures, service manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance work correctly and efficiently.
• Observes, recognizes, and follows all safety procedures.
• Assists in keeping facilities neat and clean on a daily basis.
• Handles equipment in a manner that avoids unnecessary damage or accidents.
• Works as a team, able to take direction and learn from others.
• Other duties that may be assigned.

• Ability to operate / understand mobile equipment, power tools and hand tools.
• Expected to assist other departments as time allows or as needed when directed by supervisor.

Work Requirements

This position is based in a fast paced agricultural setting and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and vibrations. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes and airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate but occasionally may be loud. PPE will be provided and must be utilized according to safety standards. Typical working hours are based on customer and organizational demand; hours may be long, irregular and including weekends and holidays during peak season.

While performing job functions the employee will be required to talk and hear most of the time. The employee will spend frequent intervals moving and sitting, while also needing to reach, bend, twist, crawl, crouch, stoop or kneel. The employee will need to be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Maneuverability on and off a mobile equipment, ladders and the ability to work at different heights. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. The physicality of this job is high.
