Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Feed Mill Maintenance Mechanic / Unloader for 1st shift to maintain and repair feed mill equipment. The role requires preventive maintenance, documentation of actions, and adherence to safety policies across company, state, and federal guidelines.

Candidate must have two years of feed mill maintenance experience, a high school degree, and ability to lift 60 pounds, climb ladders, and operate a pallet jack with heavy loads.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of feed mill maintenance or related maintenance experience.
• High school degree or equivalent.
• Able to lift 60 pounds, climb ladders and operate a pallet jack with 2000 pounds of material.
• Able to work at heights up to 200 feet and in confined spaces.
• Unload rail cars and trucks.

Responsibilities

• Repair any mechanical malfunction in the feed mill.
• Detect potential electrical or mechanical problems.
• Check that equipment is functioning properly.
• Prepare written actions taken to correct equipment problems.
• Respond to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergencies.
• Lubricate equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to posted schedule.
• Complete appropriate paperwork and reports.

Feed Mill Maintenance Mechanic / Unloader 1st shift

JOB SUMMARY:

The Feed Mill Maintenance Mechanic must be able to perform preventative maintenance on feed mill related equipment, as well as repair and install equipment as necessary. The Feed Mill Maintenance Mechanic must be able to detect potential mechanical and electrical problem, maintain the required written records including work performed, corrective actions and installed replacement parts. Feed Mill Maintenance Mechanic must work in compliance with all company policies, Local, State and Federal policies, laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Repair any mechanical malfunction in the feed mill
• detect any potential electrical or mechanical problems
• check that equipment is functioning properly
• Prepare written actions taken to correct equipment problems
• respond to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations
• lubricate equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance according to posted schedule
• complete appropriate paperwork and reports

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

• Operate a forlift
• Perform other duties as assigned
