Job summary

Seaboard Foods in Leoti, KS is seeking a Feed Mill Engineering Technician to apply engineering principles for preventative and downtime maintenance of the production facility. You will handle electrical, mechanical, boiler operations, welding, fabrication, pipe fitting, and equipment installation under engineering staff guidance.

You will follow safety rules, maintain records, and assist in reliability studies to improve production efficiency.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or at least two years related experience.
• Ability to solve problems using theoretical knowledge in the field.
• Ability to read and write reports and business correspondence; respond to questions from managers and staff.
• Ability to make routine decisions per company policies and directions from upper management.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, not required.
• Proficient experience in welding, electrical troubleshooting, and PLC.

Responsibilities

• Observe and understand production flow at specified stages and adherence to specs.
• Identify improvements in quality, costs, or efficiency of automation equipment.
• Develop understanding of automation systems controlling the facility areas.
• Coordinate maintenance to minimize downtime and interference with operations.
• Maintain maintenance records via work orders and logs.
• Suggest repairs and analyze maintenance costs for equipment and space.
