Job summary

Seaboard Foods in Leoti, KS is seeking a Feed Mill Engineering Technician to perform preventative and downtime maintenance on industrial equipment under engineering staff guidance. Responsibilities include electrical, mechanical and boiler upkeep, welding and fabrication, and updating maintenance logs to ensure equipment meets specifications.

The role requires an Associate degree or 2+ years related experience, ability to read blueprints, and comfort with safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 2+ years related experience in engineering tech.
• Ability to read reports and respond to questions from managers and staff.
• Capable of making routine decisions using company policies.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Observe flow of products at production stages and ensure adherence to specs.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality, cost, or efficiency of automation equipment.
• Develop understanding of automation systems across the production facility.
• Upgrade and coordinate with staff to minimize production interference.
• Maintain maintenance records using work orders and logs.
• Analyze maintenance costs for equipment and plant space.
• Perform timely repair, routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical/electrical equipment.
• Use hand tools and precision measuring devices and electrical testing equipment.
• Inspect drives, motors, belts, and other devices; check fluids and lubricate as needed.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective actions from observations.
• Review blueprints, piping, schematics, and wiring diagrams for test specs.
• Other duties as requested by management; assist in ground maintenance.
