Job summary

Qualifications

  • Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent; basic reading, writing, math, communication, computer, and mechanical skills.
  • Preferred: Dispatching/logistics/transportation or feed mill operations experience; experience with scheduling, recordkeeping, computerized systems, DOT compliance, forklift operation, and feed manufacturing.
  • DOT compliance, forklift operation, and feed manufacturing operations experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule feed deliveries and dispatch drivers; maintain delivery records.
  • Communicate with customers and operations teams; organize daily activities.
  • Create and maintain feed tickets and related records; ensure DOT compliance and safety practices.
  • Dispatch loads and distribute them among drivers while adhering to regulations.
  • Respond to calls from service technicians, growers, customers, and vendors; maintain relationships.
  • Maintain accurate paperwork, logs, and documentation of dispatch activities.
  • Assist with basic operational tasks within the feed mill and keep work areas clean.
  • Follow Tyson Foods health, safety, quality assurance, and biosecurity protocols.

Job Details: Feed Mill Dispatcher FM02 The starting pay for this position is $19.65/hr. with a $1.00 shift increase for second/third shifts. This facility operates to support feed manufacturing and delivery operations for poultry production and may operate on weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as needed to meet customer and operational demands.

JOB SUMMARY: The Feed Mill Dispatcher FM02 is responsible for coordinating and dispatching feed deliveries, scheduling loads, maintaining accurate records, and supporting efficient feed mill operations. This position serves as a key communication link between feed mill operations, drivers, service technicians, growers, vendors, and customers while ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, company safety standards, biosecurity requirements, and operational procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Key responsibilities include scheduling feed deliveries, dispatching drivers, maintaining delivery records, communicating with customers and operational teams, supporting feed mill activities, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and biosecurity standards.
  • Receive, document, and process feed orders accurately and timely.
  • Schedule feed loads by creating, organizing, maintaining, and filing feed tickets and related records.
  • Dispatch feed deliveries and distribute loads equitably among drivers and team members while adhering to DOT rules and regulations.
  • Answer and respond to calls from Service Technicians, growers, customers, and vendors while maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Organize daily activities, adjust priorities, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of Operations, customers, vendors, and team members both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain accurate records, paperwork, logs, and documentation associated with dispatch and feed delivery activities.
  • Assist with basic operational and mechanical tasks within the feed mill as needed.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in service areas and work locations.
  • Follow and operate within all Tyson Foods health, safety, quality assurance, and biosecurity protocols.
  • Work safely in and around feed mill equipment, elevated areas, and production environments.
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Physical Requirements

Must be willing and able to perform the following: Must be willing and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be willing and able to stand, sit, walk, climb ladders and stairs, and sustain physical activity throughout the workday. Must be willing and able to lift up to 60 lbs. independently and up to 100 lbs. with assistance. Must be willing and able to work in hot, cold, wet, dry, dusty, humid, noisy, and outdoor environments, including exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather. Must be willing and able to work in elevated areas and around moving machinery and feed mill equipment. Must be willing and able to use tools and equipment, including a sledgehammer, when required. Must be willing and able to wear all required personal protective equipment, including respirators where applicable. Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain respirator certification where applicable and meet clean-shaven requirements. Must be willing and able to work holidays, weekends, and flexible hours as required by production and delivery schedules. Must follow all Tyson biosecurity policies and procedures, including signing and complying with Company Biosecurity Guidelines and any restrictions regarding contact with avian species.

External Education and Experience
  • Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. Must possess basic reading, writing, math, communication, computer, and mechanical skills. Must be able to accurately complete paperwork, maintain records, and communicate effectively with drivers, growers, service technicians, vendors, customers, and management.
  • Preferred: Previous experience in dispatching, logistics, transportation, feed mill operations, agriculture, manufacturing, customer service, or related environments. Experience with scheduling, recordkeeping, computerized systems, DOT compliance, forklift operation, and feed manufacturing operations preferred.
Special Skills/Certifications
  • Basic math skills.

  • Ability to certify and maintain Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) certification.
  • Ability to certify and maintain Weigh Master certification.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain respirator certification where applicable.
  • Valid Class D Driver's License where applicable.
Additional Requirements

The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Team member must be willing to work in an outside environment that will fluctuate according to the conditions outside at the time; cold, warm, dusty, and/or damp environment with a high concentration of allergens present in a poultry house. Must pass a background check. Abide by company biosecurity guidelines including an agreement to avoid owning and being around any avian species.

Rehire Criteria
  • Former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days.
  • Also, if you have worked at Tyson 3 times or more you will not be eligible for rehire.
