The Dairy, Feed, and Produce Division of MDARD has a mission to protect public health by ensuring a safe and wholesome food/feed supply, while working to maintain a viable food and dairy industry – with food safety as the division's top priority. The Feed Field Supervisor (Food and Dairy Industry Manager 14) is a field-based position that provides direct supervision of field inspectors and/or specialists in activities of the Animal Feed Program.In cooperation with section managers and program specialists, the Feed Field Supervisor administers a broad range of professional and technical program activities with complex interactions that include: the supervision of assigned staff and monitoring their effectiveness and productivity in program implementation; assuming responsibility for the programs through completion; provides biweekly performance feedback to assigned staff; reviews staff performance plans and make professional judgment of performance. This position represents the department at the field program level as a first-line professional manager of professional positions, interprets applicable departmental and other policies, laws, and regulations and presents departmental policies and programs to regulated and other industry partners, news media, governmental agencies, universities, and the public.
