Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Weld Engineer for our federal equipment manufacturing campus in the Cincinnati area. You will develop, implement, and maintain welding processes that meet federal requirements and industry standards while collaborating with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure efficient, compliant, and high-quality welds.

The role emphasizes process optimization, documentation, ITAR awareness, training of welders, and continuous improvement through Lean/Six Sigma

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in welding or related engineering field.
• 3+ years welding engineering experience in regulated industry.
• CWE or CWI preferred; familiarity with AWS/ASME/MIL-STD.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize welding processes for federal equipment.
• Create and maintain WPS/PQR in line with AWS/ASME/ISO.
• Conduct inspections and testing of welds (UT/MT/PT/visual).
• Ensure compliance with ITAR, MIL-STD, and other standards.
• Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
