Job summary

The Office of Chief Counsel within U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Washington, DC seeks an experienced Title Attorney to handle title examination, conveyancing, and related real property matters in a federal environment.

GS-12 to GS-14 levels with salaries from $89,508 up to $162,514; recruitment incentive up to $50,000 and relocation incentive up to 25% of base pay. Federal benefits package included.

Qualifications

• ABA-accredited law degree required.
• Active bar membership in a state, DC, or Puerto Rico.
• Experience with title review, land acquisitions, and conveyancing.
• Knowledge of federal land acquisition, regulation, and budget considerations.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance on title review and CBP land acquisitions.
• Draft and revise deeds, sales/individual conveyancing instruments.
• Support DOJ as agency counsel in civil actions and eDiscovery.
• Conduct legal research across CBP portfolio and budget-related matters.
• Develop and deliver training on title review and federal land acquisition.
