Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from ABA‑accredited School of Law and active bar membership in a U.S. jurisdiction is required.
• Experience with federal government real‑property matters encouraged.
• Prior federal employment is not required; transferable private/public sector experience is welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance and advocacy for CBP on real property, including title review for CBP land acquisitions.
• Draft and revise land conveyancing instruments (deeds, agreements, assignments, subordination, etc.) to comply with laws and agency policies.
• Support DOJ as agency counsel in civil actions, prepare litigation materials, and participate in eDiscovery and related proceedings.
• Conduct legal research across CBP matters covering title review, land acquisition, and fiscal/appropriation laws.
• Develop and deliver training to CBP managers and staff on title review and federal land acquisition topics.
