Job summary

Renewyx is seeking a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to oversee a roof repair project in Washington, DC. You will implement and enforce the APP and AHAs, and be the competent safety person on site with full authority to stop work for unsafe conditions.

The position is full-time on-site with a strong emphasis on safety at occupied federal facilities. Ideal candidates bring at least 5 years of progressive construction safety experience, OSHA certifications, and CHST/CSP credentials, with

Qualifications

• Requires OSHA 30-hour and competent person training.
• Experience with Accident Prevention Plans (APP) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHA).
• Proven ability to lead safety on federal/occupied facilities.

Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce the Accident Prevention Plan (APP).
• Develop and maintain AHAs for all work phases.
• Conduct daily safety inspections of areas, equipment and routes.
• Lead daily pre-task safety meetings and weekly toolbox talks.
• Monitor fall protection and PPE use on roofing operations.
• Maintain safety docs, training records, and inspection logs.
• Coordinate with Contracting Officer and Government Safety Representatives.
• Investigate incidents and prepare written reports.
• Have authority to suspend work for unsafe conditions.
