Job summary

Johnson Controls Federal Systems is seeking a Security Systems Network Engineer to support federal projects in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area.

You will design and implement LAN, VPN, and network security solutions, manage Cisco-based gear, and develop monitoring tools while coordinating with Field teams and subcontractors. Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain is preferred; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience with Cisco networking in large federal or enterprise networks.
• VPN design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with security systems (access controls, CCTV) is a plus.
• Ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain required security clearances.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware and software engineering and network level commissioning for federal security projects.
• Develop, maintain monitoring tools, VPN, RSA, and network security solutions.
• Configure LAN, VPN, VTC, and security solutions to support end-user computing and server hosting.
• Manage Cisco-based devices, VLANs, BVI, port channels, and network diagrams.
• Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and customers; create as-built drawings.
• Ensure safety standards and timely progress reporting to management.
