Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University’s Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) Security Services Office seeks a strategic, detail-oriented Federal Security Specialist to support personnel security, classified control, and physical security systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security practices and respond to complex collateral matters.

Ideal candidates have DoD/USG security experience, familiarity with CUI safeguarding, and the ability to obtain TS eligibility.

Qualifications

• DoD or USG industrial security experience required.
• Understanding of proper identification, marking, and storage procedures for classified documents and hardware.
• Knowledge of safeguarding for Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
• Ability to obtain and maintain Top-Secret (TS) eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist with industrial security programs (Personnel Security, Classified Control, physical security systems).
• Provide agile security support and customer service to diverse organizational groups in a fast-paced environment.
• Assist in developing security practices, procedures, trainings, and briefings in line with government regulations.
• Handle intake of complex collateral security matters and determine appropriate processes.
• Work autonomously in a busy, service-driven environment.
• Assist in preparation for security inspections and oversight by US government agencies.
