Job summary

Penn State University’s Applied Research Laboratory seeks a highly experienced Security Specialist to manage and oversee advanced security programs at ARL. The role ensures protection of personnel, facilities, material, and information in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.

The position requires strong experience with classified materials, DoD security processes, and the ability to work autonomously onsite in State College, PA.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of advanced security programs as listed above.
• Experience handling classified materials.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, databases, and web applications.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential in a busy environment.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced setting.
• Active security clearance at the Secret level or higher.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee advanced security programs including Counterintelligence, Insider Threat, Personnel Security, COMSEC, OPSEC, and security systems.
• Develop and manage advanced industrial security practices, procedures, trainings, and briefings in line with government policies.
• Provide agile security support and excellent customer service to all organizational groups.
• Work autonomously in a busy, service-driven environment.
• Handle intake of complex collateral security matters and determine appropriate processes.
• Prepare for and represent ARL in security inspections and oversight by USG agencies.
