Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Chief Counsel seeks an attorney to provide legal guidance on real property matters, including land acquisitions and title review. You will draft conveyancing instruments and support DOJ in civil actions affecting CBP operations.

The role involves researching applicable laws, regulations, and DOJ Title Regulations, and delivering training to CBP managers on title review and related fiscal activities.

Qualifications

• Professional law degree with admission to practice law.
• Experience guiding CBP on real property and land acquisitions.
• Ability to draft and review land conveyancing documents.
• Experience supporting agency litigation including FOIA/FTCA.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance and advocacy on real property matters for CBP.
• Draft and revise deeds, sales and exchange agreements, and title opinions.
• Support DOJ as agency counsel in civil actions and eDiscovery.
• Conduct legal research applying laws to CBP programs and budgets.
