Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Project Controls Professional in Hickory, NC to manage budgets, cost control systems, and schedules for federal contracts. You will prepare cost/schedule estimates, monitor baselines, and provide variance analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 5 years of relevant experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; travel requirements depend on duties.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost control systems.
• Prepare cost and schedule estimates, analyze trends, and provide accruals and variance reports.
• Establish and monitor baselines for cost and schedule; identify variances and corrective actions.
• Support IMS development and ensure accurate progress reporting.
• Conduct cost/schedule risk analyses and assess impacts to budget/performance.
• Prepare and present KPIs, forecasts, and variance explanations to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and field teams on progress and change orders.
• Ensure compliance with FAR, CAS, and agency reporting requirements.
• Support audits, data validation, and documentation for transparency.
• Continuously evaluate control processes and suggest improvements.
• Performs other duties as assigned
