Huitt-Zollars is seeking a full-time Project Architect / Project Manager to support its Federal Practice in Alexandria, VA. The role includes planning, design, documentation, coordination, and construction-phase delivery for federal and DoD clients.

A bachelor’s in architecture and Virginia registration (or reciprocity) is required, with ~8+ years in an A/E environment. The candidate will lead tasks, manage client relationships, ensure quality, and work with senior staff on secure facilities as

Qualifications

• Approximately eight or more years of professional architectural experience in a design or design-build environment.
• Familiarity with UFC/UFGS requirements and ability to apply federal criteria with guidance.
• Familiarity with UFC/UFGS and federal criteria; interpret and apply with guidance.

Responsibilities

• Support senior project managers and technical leaders from planning through construction administration.
• Develop architectural drawings, specifications, and deliverables using established standards.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary work and attend meetings with federal clients and stakeholders.
• Prepare meeting materials, document decisions, and track assigned actions.
• Monitor scope, hours, schedule, and progress, flagging variances to leadership.
