Job summary

One Federal Solution is seeking a Personnel Security Assistant to support a government client in Arlington, Virginia. You will assist with NBIS eApp investigations, record checks, and maintaining sensitive security records in a federal environment.

The role requires U.S. citizenship, high attention to accuracy, and the ability to obtain a High-Risk Public Trust (Tier 4) clearance. Onsite at Arlington, VA, with a compensation rate of $33–$36 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years in a personnel security role.
• Experience initiating and reviewing NBIS eApp investigations.
• Experience conducting NCIC and NLETS inquiries and performing credit checks.
• Experience supporting federal personnel security processes.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills.
• U.S. citizen; eligible for High-Risk Public Trust (Tier 4).

Responsibilities

• Support initiation and processing of federal personnel security investigations and reinvestigations.
• Determine appropriate level of investigation based on position requirements.
• Conduct record checks via OPM CVS to verify reciprocity and eligibility.
• Initiate and manage NBIS eApp background investigations.
• Assist applicants with NBIS eApp access and completion.
• Review packages for completeness and compliance with federal security rules.
• Perform NCIC and NLETS inquiries and credit checks.
• Determine need for additional inquiries to resolve discrepancies.
• Fingerprint applicants and maintain sensitive records with privacy compliance.
• Coordinate with government personnel, contractors and other agencies.
• Use Microsoft Office to prepare reports and maintain records.
