Job summary

Noblis is seeking a highly technical security engineer to support the FAA Telecommunications and Integrated Services (TIS) Group. You will provide expert security engineering across the FAA’s FTI environment, guiding network architecture and security reviews from the ground up.

You will evaluate vendor architectures and align implementations with federal standards. The role requires strong collaboration with system engineers, program managers, and cybersecurity stakeholders to support ATO

Qualifications

• Experience supporting federal government programs, ideally FAA or transportation sector.
• Hands‑on network engineering/architecture with boundary protection design, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and load balancing.
• Knowledge of telecom infrastructure including IPv4/IPv6; WAN/LAN environments.
• Understanding of federal cybersecurity frameworks (NIST RMF, FISMA, NIST SP 800-53 rev 5).
• Ability to evaluate network and system security concepts for large‑scale, safety‑critical NAS environments.
• Comfort advising on defense‑in‑depth architectures, Zero Trust CONOPS, SD‑WANs, and emerging tech.
• Experience collaborating with System Engineers, PMs, and cybersecurity stakeholders to support ATO packages and continuous monitoring.
• Ability to develop system security plans, risk assessments, and related documentation.
• U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder (3+ years U.S. residency) and ability to obtain FAA Public Trust.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and guide network architecture to build cybersecurity from the ground up.
• Review system configurations, firewall rules, and paths to align with FAA Orders and NIST 800-53.
• Lead transitions (IPv4 to IPv6, microwave refreshes) from cybersecurity and architecture views.
• Support Zero Trust, SD‑WAN, and defense‑in‑depth strategies in enterprise solutions.
• Act as a technical bridge between FAA cyber stakeholders and infrastructure providers.
• Evaluate vendor architectures and make expert recommendations based on policy and industry best practices.
