Job summary

Silverthorne Advisory Group is seeking a Senior Financial Management Consultant – Team Lead to support federal financial management and modernization in the Defense sector. You will lead a team, manage project deliverables, and serve as the client liaison to ensure alignment with requirements.

The role requires experience in large data projects, internal controls, and ERP modernization, with an emphasis on data governance and SFIS alignment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant professional experience in financial management, federal consulting, accounting, audit readiness, or related fields.
• At least 3 years of experience managing, mentoring, or leading junior staff.
• Experience managing multiple projects, workstreams, or deliverables in a dynamic environment.
• Strong understanding of financial systems, internal controls, and financial management processes.
• Experience working with large datasets and synthesizing complex information into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings to senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and coordinate with stakeholders across multiple organizations.
• Interim Secret clearance or higher; Silverthorne Advisory Group is able to sponsor eligible candidates.
• Bachelor's degree and/or master's degree from an accredited university.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of four to five junior staff members, ensuring timely completion of technical and functional deliverables.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the client and translate business needs into clear functional requirements.
• Develop, manage, and oversee multiple project plans with varying levels of complexity.
• Support ERP modernization and system enhancement initiatives to strengthen internal controls and improve financial management processes.
• Develop and implement data governance protocols to improve data quality, consistency, and integration between financial systems.
• Ensure financial systems align with applicable SFIS guidelines.
• Manage CAPs from development through implementation and closure, including resolution of NFRs.
• Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Communicate project status, risks, findings, and recommendations to clients, leadership, and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate activities and communications across multiple organizations and stakeholder groups.
• Identify opportunities for additional client support, process improvements, and future business growth.
