Job summary

Synergy Business Innovation & Solutions, Inc. is seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to design, implement, and continually improve security controls for mission‑critical enterprise environments.

You will partner with DevOps, developers, and security stakeholders to ensure systems meet federal cybersecurity requirements and endure across the full lifecycle. The role emphasizes translating requirements into practical controls, managing risk, and producing high‑quality compliance documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in cybersecurity, IT, or related field.
• 5+ years in cybersecurity engineering or related disciplines.
• 3+ years supporting federal cybersecurity compliance (RMF, A&A, continuous monitoring).
• Knowledge of NIST RMF and NIST SP 800-53 controls.
• Experience with vulnerability management and remediation tracking.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cybersecurity controls for enterprise environments.
• Translate requirements into technical configurations, procedures, and plans.
• Support RMF alignment and compliance activities.
• Assess architecture, data flows, and interfaces for security gaps.
• Participate in security reviews, change control, and production readiness.
• Manage IAM controls including MFA, RBAC, and least privilege.
• Evaluate encryption, key management, and data protection capabilities.
