Job summary

CDM Smith in Boca Raton, FL is seeking a disciplined Cost Estimator to support federal projects. You will develop detailed cost estimates using MII MCACES II, PACES, RSMeans, and Success Estimator, and ensure compliance with FAR, CAS, and agency requirements.

You will collaborate with project managers and engineers, evaluate proposals, support risk and contingency planning, and contribute to budget development and IGEs. Domestic travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 5 years of relevant experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed, discipline-specific, and total project cost estimates using MII (MCACES II), PACES, RSMeans, and Success Estimator in accordance with FAR, DFARS, and regulatory standards.
• Analyze contractor cost proposals, bids, and change orders for accuracy and compliance with FAR, DFARS, and Davis-Bacon requirements.
• Interpret and quantify drawings, specifications, and statements of work to develop cost estimates across design stages.
• Incorporate UFC and design guides to ensure compliant, constructible estimates.
• Develop and maintain cost models and pricing databases for estimating accuracy.
• Collaborate with PMs, COS, engineers, and CCOs to align costs with scope and requirements.
• Support value engineering by identifying cost-saving opportunities and alternatives.
• Prepare narratives and justification documents for government review and audit.
