Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a cost estimator for federal projects in the United States. You will prepare detailed cost estimates and analyze bids using industry tools across design stages.

The role requires strong writing and communication skills, a U.S. citizen with ability to pass a background check, and travel up to 100% may be needed. You will work with PMs, COS, engineers and contracting officers to ensure accurate, compliant estimates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; equivalent related experience considered.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizen; able to pass federal background check.
• Travel up to 100% may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates using MII, PACES, RSMeans and Success Estimator per FAR/DFARS.
• Analyze contractor proposals, bids, and change orders for accuracy and compliance.
• Interpret drawings/specs to develop estimates across design stages.
• Reference UFC, Service Instructions to ensure compliant solutions.
• Develop cost models and pricing databases for accuracy.
• Collaborate with PMs, COS, engineers and COs for alignment.
