Job summary

CMG Networks seeks an experienced accounting professional to join our Bedminster, NJ headquarters team and manage government contracts accounting. The role requires deep knowledge of FAR-based cost accounting, public accounting background, and a Top Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.

You will handle invoicing, close the books, assist in budgeting and forecasting, and support audits while ensuring strict compliance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred.
• 3+ years of public accounting experience and 5+ years of Federal Government contracting experience.
• Thorough cost accounting knowledge within a FAR-based contracting environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software; ability to learn new systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable cycles.
• Maintain accurate financial records related to government contracts.
• Create and issue project invoices per contract terms and billing procedures; monitor receivables for timely collection.
• Collaborate with project management and contracts administration to track and report government funding and costs.
• Assist with month-end closing of the general ledger, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and internal statements.
• Assist in compiling the annual company budget, forecasting, and quantitative analysis.
• Support external audits, prepare documentation, and respond to auditor inquiries.
• Maintain compliance with all accounting policies and procedures.
