Job summary

BluePath Labs is seeking a Contract Specialist to support a Federal Government client. This on-site role in the Great Lakes, IL area focuses on cradle-to-grave acquisition for educational service contracts, including requirements, funding, and closeout.

The ideal candidate will process orders, manage reimbursements, track milestones, and coordinate with Navy and educational stakeholders while ensuring audit-ready documentation and compliance with DoD rules.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen.
• Minimum of a high school diploma.
• Minimum of one year of experience in Business/Finance/Accounting/Law/Logistics or similar.
• Proficient with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint and online data systems.
• Ability to maintain electronic records and data entry.
• Strong communication skills in English (oral and written).
• Ability to work under deadlines in a high-tempo environment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Review educational service contract requirements for accuracy and funding; correct minor errors and escalate significant discrepancies.
• Perform SAM checks, retain documentation, and monitor registrations.
• Verify Educational Service Agreements in EDACS before processing orders and notify of modifications.
• Prepare purchase requests and task orders in Navy ERP; adjust for funding changes and report funding gaps.
• Draft and submit task orders/modifications for government review and award; record related reporting.
• Distribute awards and modifications to institutions; obtain signatures and archive documentation.
• Review invoices and cost documents; coordinate corrections and audits; prepare packages for acceptance and liquidation.
• Track contract actions and ensure audit-ready files; support closeout actions.
• Coordinate tuition orders, reimbursements, and related records; maintain milestone trackers.
