Job summary

Midnight Sun Global Services, LLC is seeking a Construction Superintendent to support federal construction at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Tacoma, WA. The Superintendent will plan, coordinate, and supervise daily field operations from mobilization through closeout, ensuring safety, schedule, and quality compliance.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will lead crews, subcontractors, and vendors, maintain schedules, review drawings and specifications, and enforce OSHA and EM 385-1-1 standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; degree in Construction Management preferred.
• Five years of experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar role on federal/military projects.
• Experience with vertical construction, renovation, or design-build; USACE/NAVFAC experience preferred.
• Knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, field operations, and subcontractor coordination.
• Ability to read drawings, specifications, contracts, and project schedules.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, EM 385-1-1, and safety practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver's license.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction and First Aid/CPR certifications or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Ability to obtain and maintain site access including background/security checks.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily construction activities.
• Lead and coordinate employees, subcontractors, vendors, and deliveries to maintain schedule.
• Develop and maintain the schedule with PM and QC Manager.
• Monitor progress, identify impacts, and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct daily site inspections for compliance with contracts and safety.
• Coordinate inspections and required testing activities.
• Review drawings, specs, submittals, RFIs for contract alignment.
• Identify and resolve field issues with PM, QC, design team, and subs.
• Maintain daily reports on manpower, equipment, production, weather, inspections.
• Coordinate site logistics, equipment, and work sequencing.
• Enforce OSHA, EM 385-1-1, and safety policies.
• Participate in preconstruction planning, constructability reviews, progress meetings, closeout.
• Maintain active onsite presence during construction.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
