Job summary

CDM Smith seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead Federal construction projects from planning through closeout. You will coordinate contractors, manage stakeholders, and ensure compliance with FAR, safety, and quality standards.

You will serve as the primary liaison to federal clients, supervise site teams, and mentor junior staff while maintaining thorough documentation and reporting. This position requires significant travel and a commitment to excellence that supports project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• 8 years of relevant construction program management experience.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and manage all phases of Federal construction projects to ensure successful execution within scope, budget, and schedule.
• Oversee activities of contractors, subcontractors, and on-site personnel to maintain quality, safety, and contractual compliance.
• Act as primary liaison between Federal government client’s construction branch, project stakeholders, and contractors; maintain effective communication and issue resolution.
• Review construction documents (safety plans, QC plans, drawings, specs, submittals, RFIs) for FAR alignment and applicable codes.
• Lead pre-construction conferences, design/progress meetings, on-site inspections, and punch list development.
• Ensure activities comply with federal safety, environmental, and quality standards; enforce agency requirements.
• Track project performance metrics, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions.
• Mentor and train junior staff; promote adherence to best practices in construction management.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation for submission to federal agencies.
• Promote a safety culture across sites, ensuring OSHA and agency-specific standards are met.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
