Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Federal business unit. You’ll support planning, buyout, management, and closeout while helping monitor schedule and budget impacts. You’ll report to the Project Manager and work with a team across multiple functions.

Ideal candidates have at least two years of project engineering experience, strong communication skills, and familiarity with project management systems and MS Office. Federal contracts experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Industry related college degree is required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of project engineering experience required; internship preferred.
• Federal Contracts experience preferred; NAVFAC/USACE experience a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic project management software desired.

Responsibilities

• Organize, review, update, maintain and post construction documents and drawings.
• Collaborate with project team to complete RFIs.
• Review submittals for accuracy against plans and specs.
• Assist in inspections, audits, and non-conformance logs.
• Monitor material and equipment delivery status.
• Maintain project logs (buyouts, submittals, RFIs).
• Understand scopes of work for subcontracts/purchase orders.
• Track change requests and draft change orders.
• Assist with project schedule management.
• Attend meetings and record minutes.
• Gather closeout information and assist with warranty processes.
