Job summary

Appian is seeking a Solution Architect to expand our federal business and design integrated solutions for Army modernization. You’ll advise on architecture across private clouds and government cloud offerings, driving complex, secure, and scalable Appian deployments with agile delivery practices.

You will collaborate with customers to shape offerings, write whitepapers, and support pre‑sales through technical expertise and program management—travel up to 10–15% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years advising customers on government cloud design and at least 10 years multi-tier application design and architecture.
• Experience architecting secure cloud hosting solutions for federal customers on AWS/GCP/Azure; leadership in enterprise cloud environments (C2S, JWICS, GovCloud).
• Experience authoring federal proposals and whitepapers is required.
• Experience delivering IT with agile frameworks (Scrum/SAFe).
• Willingness to travel 10-15% to support customer engagements including SCIFs.
• Certifications: AWS, Google or Azure; PMP; Certified Scrum Master; TS/SCI clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advise on the technical design, architecture and implementation of Appian solutions on private cloud or on‑prem hosting; integrate government cloud offerings.
• Support sales with high‑value, differentiated solutions and delivery roadmaps.
• Present and vet integrated solutions and complex architectures to customers and audiences.
• Support configuration, testing, deployment and operations of Appian applications using agile practices.
• Lead architecture discussions with Army stakeholders and partners to ensure secure, compliant systems.
