Job summary

The ATF is seeking a Budget Analyst in the Financial Management Division, Budget Branch, to support budget formulation and execution for assigned programs. The incumbent provides expert financial guidance, prepares budget materials, and monitors the Financial Plan in collaboration with program offices and leadership.

The position requires specialized experience in budget development, analysis, and tracking of obligations and funding, with compliance to Bureau controls and fiscal year planning.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience in budget development, analysis, and tracking of obligations and funding.
• Ability to provide expert guidance to stakeholders on allocation, use, and control of funds.
• Experience ensuring spending follows established Bureau controls and fiscal year Financial Plan.

Responsibilities

• Providing expert advice, assistance, and guidance to program managers and Bureau officials on all aspects of the allocation, use, and control of appropriated funds.
• Supporting the oversight of budget execution activities by monitoring inputs, outputs, and modifications to the Financial Plan.
• Demonstrating and applying knowledge of federal budget formulation & execution processes, financial analysis, and relevant laws, regulations, and directives.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across Directorates and program offices to support organizational goals, contributing to the completion of tasks that advance ATF's mission.
• Preparing a wide range of budget materials, including justifications, operating plans, mid-year reviews, briefing documents, and funding reports, ensuring information is presented clearly, concisely, and accurately for internal leadership and relevant stakeholders.
