Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPA) in multiple entry to mid-level career tracks. The position offers full-time employment with competitive base pay, federal benefits, and job stability.

Recruitment and retention incentives may total up to $50,000, with up to $20,000 recruitment and up to $30,000 retention incentives. Selected BPAs will handle duties across border enforcement, surveillance, and inspections, with opportunities at numerous duty locations

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating leadership, decision making and composure.
• Bachelor’s degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field.
• Combination of experience and education may qualify for the role.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspect documents.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance.
• Interpret tracks and evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Perform farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks.
• Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using various government assets.
