Qualifications

• One year of general work experience or education substitution as described for GL-5.
• Bachelor's degree or completion of a full four-year course of study from an accredited institution.
• Combination of general work experience and education may also qualify for certain grades.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
• Inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders.
• Interpreting tracks and evidence of illegal entry and contraband.
• Patrolling borders and using government assets to fulfill the USBP mission.
