Job summary

CDM Smith in the United States is seeking a senior Federal Alternative Delivery Market Lead to shape the firm’s strategy with national and regional General Contractors on Progressive Design‑Build and related delivery methods.

You will assemble and manage executive‑level relationships, lead teaming agreements, and coordinate with CSLs, preconstruction, legal, and sales teams to drive opportunities and improve probability of award.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 15 years of related experience.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally; travel frequency varies.
• Equivalent direct related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead CDM Smith’s strategy with federal General Contractors pursuing alternative delivery opportunities.
• Identify priority pursuits and build executive-level relationships that lead to teaming commitments.
• Develop teaming strategies with Client Service Leaders and preconstruction, legal, and sales teams to improve probability of award.
• Manage the General Contractor relationship pipeline from target identification through execution of teaming agreements and scopes of work.
• Position CDM Smith as the preferred design subcontractor early in the procurement cycle and negotiate exclusivity and scopes of work prior to solicitation.
• Present engineering expertise, constructability, cost validation, design-phase management, risk mitigation to General Contractor teams.
• Lead teaming strategy for DoD and other federal opportunities by translating procurement criteria into competitive designs.
• Maintain qualified pipeline of federal opportunities with CSLs and track next actions.
• Track federal agency movements toward accelerated delivery methods and align pursuit resources accordingly.
• Resolve operational friction between GC and A-E teams during design validation and cost reconciliation.
• Serve as the senior relationship and capture lead through teaming agreement execution and transition to pursuit/delivery teams.
