Job summary

Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security, is seeking Federal Air Marshals to protect commercial flights and respond to threats on board. The role requires firearms proficiency, rigorous training, and willingness to travel as needed.

Candidates must meet eligibility criteria, including citizenship, age, background checks, and the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance. This full-time position involves irregular schedules and international travel as part of duty

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible experience demonstrating problem-solving and communication.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Combination of education and experience may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial flights from terrorist activity and other threats.
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights.
• Assess situations and respond with limited backup.
• Carry a firearm and maintain required proficiency.
• Conduct law enforcement, investigative, and advisory duties.
• Interview witnesses or suspects when required.
• Make arrests and execute warrants within authority.
• Participate in multi-agency operations with partners.
• Support ground-based security and counterterrorism missions.
• Perform other specialized assignments, including Counter-UAS operations.
