Job summary

Transportation Security Administration is seeking Federal Air Marshals to protect commercial aviation from terrorism and other threats. The role requires high discretion, physical readiness, and firearms proficiency, with duties including in-flight security, threat assessment, and coordination with federal, state, and local partners.

Applicants must meet eligibility criteria—citizenship, age, background clearance—and be prepared for irregular schedules, travel, and training.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible experience or a bachelor's degree or higher, or a combination of education and experience.
• A qualifying combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience can qualify you.
• Must meet age, citizenship, and security requirements for federal law enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial passenger flights from terrorism, aircraft piracy, and other threats.
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights.
• Assess developing situations and respond with limited backup.
• Carry a firearm and maintain proficiency.
• Conduct investigations, interviews, and advisory activities.
• Collaborate with multi-agency partners on operations.
