Job summary

Transportation Security Administration seeks highly trained Federal Air Marshals to protect commercial flights from terrorism. They operate both in the air and on the ground, often with irregular schedules and extensive travel.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, at least 21, able to obtain a Top Secret clearance, and meet education/experience requirements. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience may qualify, with rigorous selection and training processes.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible experience or a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• A qualifying combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience is acceptable.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. national and meet other basic eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial passenger flights from terrorist activity and other threats.
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights.
• Carry a firearm and maintain required firearms proficiency.
• Conduct law enforcement, investigative, analytical, and advisory activities.
• Participate in multi-agency operations with federal, state, and local partners.
