Job summary

Steampunk is seeking an AI Governance Analyst to operationalize a compliant AI governance capability for a large federal client, translating federal policy into day-to-day processes and maintaining the program's AI use case inventory and risk tracking.

The role requires strong policy translation, risk assessment, and collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure adherence to applicable standards and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of AI governance, risk, or compliance experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
• Experience translating regulatory guidance into operational checklists and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Operationalize an AI Governance Framework translating federal guidance into governance processes and workflows.
• Build and maintain an AI Use Case Inventory with ownership, human-override, and risk classifications.
• Support governance documentation artifacts such as model cards and risk assessments.
• Maintain a living Mandate Compliance Matrix and AI governance dashboards.
• Monitor policy trends to keep governance processes current with federal requirements.
