Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Charlotte, NC seeks a detail-oriented estimator/analyst to manage the estimating process for On-site Equipment Rental Programs (OERPs) with First Equipment Company. You will develop vendor rate analyses, build BOA baskets for bid leveling, and coordinate with Turner Preconstruction, Procurement, and Operations to forecast equipment needs and pricing.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years in construction estimating or related field, strong data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with minimum 3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply contract documents, drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Strong communication, both verbal and written.
• Familiarity with estimating processes, vendor rate analyses, and bid leveling.

Responsibilities

• Manage detailed rental rate analyses and vendor bid models to support cost savings and program credibility.
• Assemble RFP packages for rental vendors across program types (on-site yard, branch-serviced, hybrid).
• Lead data management for preconstruction, including vendor rate sheets, entitlement catalogs, and bid leveling workbooks.
• Coordinate with Turner Preconstruction, Procurement, and Operations teams; act as primary contact for vendor clarifications.
• Support constructability and logistics reviews and coordinate site layout, power, and service coverage with vendors and ops teams.
• Develop value analysis studies to identify cost-efficient equipment options and inflation assumptions.
• Prepare scope requisitions and ensure coverage of equipment types across vendors.
• Benchmark current estimates against historical OERP data to identify leverage opportunities.
• Evaluate vendor proposals for scope, rates, and services and document findings for post-bid reviews.
• Drive action items from post-bid reviews and provide recommendations for bid awards.
