UW Health in Madison, WI, is seeking individuals for its Nursing Assistant Clinical Apprentice Program. The paid apprenticeship runs 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with the program beginning February 1, 2027.

The role involves direct patient care tasks within a hospital setting, building essential nursing skills and teamwork. Eligible applicants gain clinical exposure and may qualify for NA positions upon completion.

• Formal acceptance into UW Health Nursing Assistant Clinical Apprentice Program.
• High School Diploma or equivalent or 60 college credits with junior year in college preferred.
• 1 year of prior work experience preferred.

• Demonstrate good interpersonal skills with hospital staff, visitors, patients, and their families.
• Upon completion of the program, you may transfer to units with NA positions depending on availability.

Work Schedule

Pay

• A competitive starting pay of $18.25 per hour/year to obtain your Certification as a Nursing Assistant through the Sate of Wisconsin.

We are seeking individuals for the UW Health Nursing Assistant Apprenticeship Program. The program will begin February 1st, 2027.

• Participate in direct patient care tasks, processes, and procedures to assist members of a patient care team in providing a broad range of healthcare services to our patients as Nursing Assistant in a hospital setting. This includes assisting with activities of daily living, patient transport, and stocking.
• Demonstrate good interpersonal skills with other hospital staff, visitors, patients, and their family members.
• Upon successful completion of the program and placement on registry, participants will be interviewed and may transfer to units throughout the hospitals in available NA positions.

• Formal acceptance into the UW Health Nursing Assistant Clinical Apprentice Program. Required
• High School Diploma or equivalent or have at least 60 credits and/or be going into their junior year of college. Preferred

Work Experience

• 1 year of prior work experience Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• CPR/BLS certification Preferred
