Job summary

SARACA is seeking a Feature Systems Engineer to help build, maintain, and troubleshoot the company’s expanding automotive capabilities. You will work with cross-functional teams to define customer feature objectives and analyze requirements for platform and program-specific feature development.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of automotive systems engineering experience, strong knowledge of ISO 26262 and INCOSE requirements decomposition, and hands-on DOORS experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Software, or Systems Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• 3–5 years of automotive industry experience.
• Strong understanding of Automotive Systems Engineering and ISO 26262.

Responsibilities

• Create, update, and track Customer Feature Objectives (CFOs).
• Analyze CFOs to ensure alignment with project objectives and engineering standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish best practices for new feature development.
• Support platform-level and program-specific new feature development.
• Coordinate feature activities across Software, Hardware, Systems, and other engineering teams.
• Conduct competitive benchmarking and support Voice of Customer (VOC) clinics.
• Translate customer and business needs into technical feature objectives and requirements.
• Support requirements decomposition and traceability throughout the development lifecycle.
• Review regulatory requirements and applicable industry best practices.
• Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Role Overview

This role will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to define customer feature objectives, analyze requirements, support platform and program-specific feature development, and establish best practices across global programs.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Systems Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET-accredited university.
• 3-5 years of automotive industry experience.
• Strong understanding of Automotive Systems Engineering.
• Knowledge of ISO 26262 and automotive functional safety concepts.
• Understanding of requirements engineering and INCOSE requirements decomposition.
• Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Strong project coordination and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Software, or Systems Engineering.
• Experience with IBM DOORS or similar ALM/PLM requirements management tools.
• Hands-on Systems Engineering experience.
• Experience creating or interpreting system network topology diagrams.
• Ability to analyze problems from multiple perspectives, including Software, Hardware, and Field issues.
• Knowledge of one or more automotive functional domains, such as:
• Electrical
• Chassis
• Body
• Interior
• Vehicle Systems
