Job summary

CFD Research Corporation is seeking a talented finite element engineer to join our growing structural analysis team. The candidate will evaluate, analyze and help design metallic and composite aerospace structures, working closely with other analysis teams and engineers in Huntsville, with potential collaboration at the Hollywood, AL center.

Responsibilities include developing and validating linear and nonlinear FEA models to assess safety margins and deflections, mentoring by senior engineers,

Qualifications

• US Citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering with experience in FEA tools (Abaqus, Ansys or Nastran).
• Ability to create clear technical documentation and present results to stakeholders.
• Strong problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate linear and nonlinear FEA models to assess safety margins and deflections.
• Mentor under multiple subject matter experts with decades of experience.
• Produce engineering reports and documentation for requirement verification and design reviews.
