Job summary

CFD Research Corporation is seeking a talented finite element engineer to join our structural analysis team at the Huntsville headquarters. The candidate will evaluate analyze and help design metallic and composite aerospace structures using Abaqus, ANSYS, or NASTRAN, with remote HPC and Python for post-processing as a bonus.

Qualifications

• US citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with Abaqus, ANSYS or Nastran.
• Ability to create clear technical documentation and present results to stakeholders.
• Strong problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate linear and non-linear FEA models to assess safety margins and deflections.
• Mentor under multiple subject matter experts with decades of experience.
• Produce engineering reports and documentation in support of requirement verification and design reviews.
