Job summary

Halff is seeking a Civil Engineer with a Florida PE license to serve as Project Manager on our Florida Transportation team in Tampa, FL. The role focuses on delivering and managing FDOT roadway design projects, leading technical approaches, and coordinating with staff and clients.

Ideal candidates will have 10+ years in civil/public works or transportation project delivery, FDOT experience, and a strong ability to manage scopes, budgets, and schedules while mentoring engineers and EITs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or ABET-accredited equivalent
• 10+ years of civil/public works/transportation project delivery experience with at least 6 years post-PE license preferred
• FDOT experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida
• Ability to lead a project and supervise technical staff
• Ability to design and review in MicroStation
• Ability to design, oversee and review roadway projects for FDOT and local municipalities
• Ability to manage multiple projects
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Works under Transportation Team Leader to develop roadway design projects for FDOT
• Collaborates with design staff, consultants, and clients to deliver projects
• Manages transportation projects or tasks to meet business needs
• Assists in workload planning for design staff and engineers
• Assists in developing and managing project scopes, budgets, and schedules
• Reviews transportation designs and detailed plans for accuracy
• Reports on project progress
• Collaborates with clients and consultants
• Supports business development activities with Transportation Team Leader and Operations Manager
