Job summary

Tom Trese is seeking a Project Engineer for a heavy-civil / FDOT roadway project in Naples, FL. This direct-hire, full-time role offers hands-on field exposure, mentorship, and real opportunity to advance toward Senior PE as you contribute to a major FDOT program.

You'll manage RFIs and submittals, assist with scheduling and cost tracking, review plans for constructability, and ensure FDOT documentation alignment. A 2+ year background in heavy civil and a Civil Engineering degree are preferred.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of project or field engineering in heavy civil / highway construction.
  • Experience with FDOT roadway projects or similar DOT work.
  • Working knowledge of RFIs, submittals, and field coordination.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Ability to read civil construction plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Manage RFIs and submittals to move information between designers, owner, and subcontractors.
  • Support the field superintendent with material tracking and subcontractor scheduling.
  • Assist in tracking quantities, pay estimates, and project costs.
  • Review plans and specs to catch conflicts and constructability issues.
  • Maintain documentation and daily reports aligned with FDOT standards.
