Job summary

Mentor Technical Group seeks a Senior Construction Project Manager in Puerto Rico to oversee complex pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device projects. You will lead planning, execution, commissioning and closeout with limited supervision.

The role requires a PE license, 8+ years in construction management, and strong knowledge of cGMP, OSHA, and regulatory compliance. Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project and Primavera P6 is essential, plus bilingual English/Spanish communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil/mechanical/electrical engineering or related field.
  • PE license active required.
  • 8+ years in construction management or related.
  • Experience in FDA-regulated environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of cGMP, OSHA, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Proficient with MS Office, MS Project, Primavera P6, AutoCAD.
  • Fluent English and Spanish preferred.
  • OSHA 30-Hour and PMP certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all functions related to construction management with limited supervision.
  • Lead and oversee construction projects from planning through execution, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Ensure project execution complies with cGMP, applicable building codes, OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and client standards.
  • Manage construction schedules, budgets, resources, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, construction documents, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Provide technical leadership and engineering support during all project phases.
  • Conduct field inspections and monitor site activities to verify compliance with approved plans, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate with clients, engineering teams, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies to facilitate project execution.
  • Identify project risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and promptly communicate issues to management and clients.
  • Prepare project status reports, construction progress reports, budget analyses, and other project documentation as required.
  • Promote a customer-oriented culture by understanding client needs and developing effective solutions that support project goals.
  • Guarantee the highest quality of services by reviewing work and ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Maintain excellent professional relationships with MTG clients, demonstrating professionalism and technical expertise.
  • Support business development by identifying project opportunities and providing technical expertise during proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with MTG administrative requirements and documentation.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry regulations, engineering practices, construction methodologies, and emerging technologies.
  • Other duties as assigned by management and/or client representatives.
