Job summary

KMRG, LLC is hiring a Laboratory Operations Technician to join our Lenexa, KS team. You will provide onsite technical and operational laboratory support to the FDA Kansas lab, including media preparation, sterilization, sample prep, glassware washing, waste handling, and routine safety checks.

You will follow written procedures, maintain accurate records, and work in a structured laboratory environment with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 6 months of experience in a laboratory, industrial, custodial, manufacturing, food-processing, or similarly structured work environment.
• Ability to follow written procedures, safety protocols, and detailed instructions.
• Basic familiarity with cleaning, sanitizing, or handling laboratory glassware.
• Ability to use simple measuring, monitoring, or recording tools.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and complete required checklists.
• Ability to work independently after receiving required training.
• Ability to communicate problems, unsafe conditions, and unusual findings promptly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare media, solutions, reagents, and standards; adjust pH as directed.
• Sterilize prepared media and laboratory containers; operate autoclaves.
• Assist with aseptic and non-aseptic sample preparation and handling.
• Wash glassware; maintain clean lab areas and supply storage.
• Handle waste according to procedures; maintain waste records.
• Monitor safety equipment and perform routine safety checks.
• Document monitoring results and maintain logs of equipment use.
• Follow SOPs and quality procedures across tasks.
