Southwest Shipyard, LP is seeking an experienced welder to join our Brady Island, Houston facility. The role involves using electrical currents to fuse metals for repairing parts and building new components (FCAW). Night shift is 3:30pm - 12:00am, with overtime and weekend work expected.

Employees undergo welding tests to determine internal classification; on-site drug testing and TWIC card eligibility are required. Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifikationen

• Must be proficient in English and be able to communicate effectively with others.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Ability to multitask, learn quickly, and meet deadlines as needed.

Aufgaben

• Grind barge and boat repair areas, internal compartments and cargo tanks, and external surface areas in preparation for welding.
• Weld barge and boat repair areas, internal compartments and cargo tanks, external surfaces and components with required passes for full penetration welds.
• Operate welding and grinding equipment, blowers, hoses, and related tools to complete weld and repair tasks.
