Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC is seeking a Mental Health or Substance Abuse Tech to provide direct services at our facility-based crisis center in Foothills Regional Treatment Center, Lenoir, NC. This PRN/Part Time role involves assessments, care, and treatments for clients with psychiatric disorders while supporting a therapeutic environment.

Shifts are 12-hour, 6:45am–7:15pm, 1-2 shifts per week, with hourly pay of $16–$17 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years' health care experience at the level of health care assistant or an AA in mental health, or equivalent.
• Experience in the field of mental health; life experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to individuals with psychiatric disorders in the facility-based crisis center; ensure safety and well-being of each patient; support the maintenance of the therapeutic environment.
• Provide assessments, care and treatments for clients while adhering to standards of care and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

Education, Licensure, and Experience required for the position include: High school or GED. two years' experience in health care work at the level of health care assistant or an associate of arts in mental health; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience must be in the field of mental health. Life experience may be substituted for work experience at the discretion of the supervisor. 2 years' experience in a health care setting, some knowledge of addiction and recovery programs

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to lift 10 lbs.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 15 lbs.
• Must be able to pull minimum of 10 lbs.
• Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop.
• Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Required to regularly stand and walk.
• Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level requiring to work on hands, knees, bending, standing and lifting.
• Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
• Must be able to talk and hear.

RHA Behavioral Health Services is in need of dedicated and compassionate Mental Health or Substance Abuse Techs to join our interdisciplinary healthcare team, to provide direct services at our facility based crisis center. In this dynamic role you will provide assessments, care and treatments for clients in the facility while adhering to RHA's standards of care. Additionally, you will work with a team providing a high level of patient care.

Location: Foothills Regional Treatment Center in Lenoir, NC

Hours: Part Time/PRN 1-2 shifts per week; 12 hour shifts 6:45am-7:15pm

Pay: $16-$17 per hour depending on experience

Job Responsibilities

As a Mental Health or Substance Abuse Tech you will be responsible for providing direct patient care to individuals with psychiatric disorders in the facility based crisis center; ensuring the safety and well being of each patient; and supporting the maintenance of the therapeutic environment.

Additional Responsibilities

• Consistently follows the plan of care designed to meet the emotional needs of the patients, including safety level checks.
• Facilitate group activities using provided curriculum.
• Actively participates in the quality improvement process.
• Verbalizes and demonstrates proper procedures for infection control.
• Responds promptly and correctly to codes called; demonstrates proper protocols for managing aggressive patients and special precautions.

Additional Requirements

Additional requirements of the Mental Health Tech include:

• A high school diploma or GED
• 2 years' experience working at the level of health care assistant
• Valid driver's license and automotive insurance required
