Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC is seeking a Mental Health or Substance Abuse Tech for a facility-based crisis center in Lenoir, NC. This PRN, part-time role supports patients with psychiatric disorders and aids in maintaining a therapeutic environment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and 2 years of health care experience in mental health settings. CPR training and a valid driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2 years’ experience in health care work at the level of health care assistant or an associate of arts in mental health; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience must be in the field of mental health.
  • 2 years’ experience in a health care setting, some knowledge of addiction and recovery programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to individuals with psychiatric disorders in a facility-based crisis center.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of each patient and support the therapeutic environment.
  • Follow the plan of care and assist with emotional support and safety level checks.
  • Facilitate group activities and participate in quality improvement processes.
  • Respond to codes and follow infection control procedures.

Life experience may be substituted for work experience at the discretion of the supervisor. 2 years’ experience in a health care setting, some knowledge of addiction and recovery programs Physical requirements to perform essential functions of the job included: Regularly required to lift 10 lbs. Must be able to lift a minimum of 15 lbs. Must be able to pull minimum of 10 lbs. Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop. Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Required to regularly stand and walk. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level requiring to work on hands, knees, bending, standing and lifting. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. In this dynamic role you will provide assessments, care and treatments for clients in the facility while adhering to RHA's standards of care.Additionally, you will work with a team providing a high level of patient care.
