Job summary

GeorgiaTEK Systems Inc. is seeking an experienced Fastener Application Engineer to provide onsite technical support for fastener joint design, validation, testing, and problem resolution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in fastener engineering or related roles.
• Strong knowledge of fastener materials, coatings, joint design, torque development.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, joint cross-sections, material specifications, test data.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for fastener applications during product design, validation, testing, and issue resolution.
• Review joints and recommend appropriate fasteners, torque specifications, validation methods, and design improvements.
• Perform and evaluate fastener testing, including torque-to-failure, torque-to-yield, torque-tension, clamp-load, ultrasonic, and other applicable tests.
• Develop tightening strategies involving dynamic torque, residual torque, audit torque, torque-angle, and angle-controlled applications.
• Coordinate laboratory testing, analyze results, and provide technical recommendations and reports.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
• Support vehicle development, product launches, and investigation of fastener-related plant issues and failures.
