AKA Hotels + Hotel Residences in Boston is seeking a capable Team Member to support our culinary team in a fast-paced kitchen. You will follow recipes, maintain cleanliness, and ensure proper plate presentation.

The role requires English proficiency, flexibility to work mornings/evenings/weekends/holidays, and at least 2 years of kitchen experience. Food safety standards, inventory handling, and safe waste disposal are part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated problem solving and teamwork.
• Energetic, self-motivated and a can-do attitude.
• Proficiency in English (written and oral).
• Food Handlers Licensed preferred.
• At least 2 years of previous cook experience preferred.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Collaborate closely with culinary team to maintain consistency and uphold our high standards and ensure that food is prepared according to recipes and plate presentation guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Embrace a fast-paced environment and effectively manage time to meet the demands of a busy kitchen.
• Follow safe food handling practices and procedures maintaining a safe and clean work environment by cleaning work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Weigh and measure ingredients to control recipes accurately.
• Dispose of garbage and follow sanitation standards and regulations.
• Manage inventory, requisition supplies, and store foodstuffs.
• Stay updated on industry knowledge through education and reading professional publications.
• Operate the dish machine, wash dishes following safety protocols, sweep and mop back-of-house areas.
